This adorable and squishy baby girl was in the studio a few weeks ago! Is there really anything better than a squishy baby?????
She made me work HARD for these shots, but I am ridiculously patient. Babies…fair warning, I ALWAYS win!! Lol.
I really love how these images turned out.
When I made the decision to eliminate bold colors in my prop stash and use only neutrals I KNEW I was going to love it!!!! What a timeless, classic gallery this lucky momma gets. 🙂 I want to have them in MY house!
Serious props to her big brother, he was so well behaved and really set the bar for sibling shots!
If you are expecting, make sure you book BEFORE you deliver. We are almost booked for the year. It makes me sad to turn people away because we are booked and they didn’t book ahead of time.
I have had the honor of photographing the Z family since little mister’s newborn session. This Momma shares my love of photos and makes sure to schedule family photos each year. In the summer we usually start planning the next session for their family so they are sure to get updated portraits for their home and of course some in time for holiday cards.
This year I got to see them a little earlier then normal, as Daddy will be gone on deployment for the next 11 months. I, admittedly, had a difficult time trying to “keep it together” preparing for this session….being an Army wife myself I know how hard deployments can be. I knew I had to get these portraits perfect for them…so I scoured the internet for inspiration, spent hours chatting with Mom discussing details and sharing ideas…..every Pinterest board and planning session left me a sniffling mess.
In the end we opted for a traditional family portraits instead of pre-deployment style photos and I am happy to report I held it together for the session…lol. I hope that when they are missing one another that they can look to these photos and remember the giggles and happiness shared this day and look forward to making new memories when Daddy gets home.
Be safe and come home quick.
We are so very thankful for your sacrifice Z family.
Mr. L is 6 months old!! Look at him growing like a little weed. I loved this location. It was perfect to commemorate this family’s time in Florida and honor this little guys Daddy’s time in the military.
I have had the absolute honor of photographing the Bumgarner Family since they announced their very first “Bum in the oven”. I have watched their first baby grow from a bump to a beautiful big sister! So when I learned that this milestone session would be our last session together I couldn’t help but be a little sentimental and sad. While this milestone marks big mans half birthday and his milestone of allllmost sitting up! It was also marking an end of an era…and a bittersweet goodbye. When you spend so much time with the same families they become less like clients and more like friends and family.
I wanted to share our beautiful journey! Sorry, I get attached to my people…. <3
When sweet Baby S’s family contacted me about setting up a newborn session they were in a time crunch. Between baby’s arrival, Daddy’s deployment and recently moving to the area the pressure was on to find a photographer that would not only fit their style, but was available this close to baby time.
While we do book up months in advance, I just knew I had to make this happen for them. A few weeks later little man arrived and they came to the studio for their session. Big sister kept me laughing the entire time…she will have a job in comedy or show business some day I am sure of it!! We were able to capture some gorgeous family and sibling shots, as well as all of the posed shots of little guy and more! I loved all of the grays and blues in this session because this little man ended a 5 month streak of newborn girls in our studio…I was excited to see some boy props for a change!! No offense girl babies…I love you too!
Baby S. has a “Where the Wild Things Are” nursery so we used a few animal hats and props so he will have some Baby Art to display in his room. We couldn’t forget to honor Dad’s Army service with some military images, we also recreated an image that was taken of big sis at her newborn session. While Jacksonville is primarily a Navy town it was fun to photograph a fellow Army family!
This is just a small sample of their gorgeous gallery. You can view the entire gallery on our portfolio page.

Recently, I had the privilege of photographing this soon to be family of 4! This sweet mommy was a winner of one of our Maternity Session Giveaways in 2014. Unfortunately fate had other plans, and that baby became an angel. When mom contacted me to tell me she would not be able to redeem her prize as planned I reassured her that when time healed her wounds and she was ready we would document a future pregnancy, even if it was a few years from now.
I was SO elated when I heard back from her this year that they were expecting! Being a mommy to an angel baby this made the session even that more special to me! Not only did I get to give something back, but I got to see love, healing and hope embodied in a beautiful mother. <3
I am so glad to be a part of this rainbow baby’s journey!
